The world in 21st century is marked by high interest and opportunities for learning foreign languages. Accordingly, many experts are under impression that young generations should take up learning languages at primary school, not waiting until they are in secondary school. To the best of my knowledge, stimulating learning languages at early ages outnumber side effects associated with it.
While doing justice to the clues on prompting educating primary schoolchildren for foreign languages, mental capacity of a child should not be blocked out. Recent research on children’s ability to memorize the knowledge they acquired at school has revealed that primary school children are more likely to recall every single data about subjects than any other age group. Subsequently, positive consequences can be achieved by embarking upon educating children foreign languages at primary school.
Another main justification for encouraging teaching languages at primary school might be rooted in anxieties and problems children will face in the long term. By gaining knowledge on languages prior to secondary school, children will concentrate on other subjects in the following education system and problems notably information overload due to numerous additional subjects in curriculum in secondary school will be minimized. Those children will possess much more know-how and muse differently from their peers which waste time at primary school by ignoring foreign languages.
In the light of these facts, educating children to learn foreign languages at early age, particularly from primary school, has various benefits for the long term education of children. Stimulating children to play permanently and neglecting languages at that stage might cause difficulties for them in due course owing to lack of adequate knowledge on subjects.
