Some people believe that corporal punishment will spoil the children. While others believe that, it is the best method of teaching discipline to children. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
The way how small children should be dealt with and the approach that should be adopted by their parents for punishing them remains an arguable and controversial matter that always opens the door for a lot of discussions and debates. Some people think that the corporal punishment could sometimes be a good solution to control their children and quash dreadful acts that could be perpetrated by a child. Some others, on the contrary think that it might be harmful and devastating to the personality of the child especially on the long term.
One point of view that might be quite prevalent nowadays considers the corporal punishment as the only way to deter a mischief child who is disobeying the given orders and who is always breaking the rules, set for him by his parents.
This point of view prevails mainly within the unfortunate societies where poverty, ignorance and high rates of uneducation pervade. Proponents of this view, think that it is often in vain to refer to any other type of punishment to rectify the behavior of their children. For them, a less offensive method will yield nothing, and the child will end up breaching the rules more and more.

On the extreme opposite side, another perception exists, which has started recently to gain good ground. According to this opposite view, the corporal punishment is deemed a repugnant act that shows the feebleness of the parent in dealing with his child rather than power in inflicting his orders. Moreover, it could be very harsh and unsympathetic to treat a young child in such an offensive way.
I may find myself, somewhere in between the couple of aforementioned point of views. Though referring to punishment methods in order to deter a child and to put him on the right track is imperative, resorting to the corporal way of it should be averted as much as possible. To me, it could be spoiling the personality of the young child at early stages, which are the most crucial moments of rising up a child and building his personality.
To conclude, I would perceive the matter of educating young children and teaching them good disciplines is very important and therefore it will always remain a rich subject that involves a lot of discussions and point of views. It is very difficult to reach a consensus about which punishment method could be the best. What could be judged correct in some situations could be judged totally wrong in some other situations.
