Essay topic:
Some people believe that there should be fixed punishments for each type of crime. Others, however, argue that the circumstances of an individual crime, and the motivation for committing it, should always be taken into account when deciding on the punishment.
Discuss both the views and give your opinion.
We live in economically diverse background which consist of communities as rich and poor. The standard of life between these communities differs a lot. Individuals coming from this background are prone to commit crime for various selfish reasons, everyone has priorities to lead and suffice the needs. Some prefer to achieve those considering the constitutional laws while, others don’t. Therefore, I believe crime if committed should impose fixed punishment with investigation. This essay will discuss whether to fixed punishment to be given for each type of crime or to check on the grounds of circumstances and motive behind committing crime. Both the aspects will be evaluated before coming to a final discretion. My inclination is argued further.
It is certainly true as per the notion of a layman that, “Justice delayed is justice denied.” Focusing on the former view of imposing fixed punishment for each type of crime is indeed a good resolution, so as to keep the masses aware of the judicial system and abide by constitutional laws. In my country we have a strong legislation in which many sections are segregated defining the particular punishment for execution of crime. Therefore in my view if the former view is applicable we can eradicate these unethical, ferocious criminals, corrupted psychology of people who treat the nation’s law system worthless.
On the other hand, I would also put some light on the cases where crime is committed for self-defense. To provide a fair discretion it is utmost important for considering both the predator and victim. Moreover, many a times crime is occurred due to circumstances, for example, in self defense, being provoked by fellow, out of anxiety … However, due to which these kind of crime is judge only after examination.Government also takes initiatives to provide rehabilitation centers for criminals to give them a new path for life , technical teaching , knowledge on morality, ethics, fellowship is inculcated among them, as nations prime objective is to have safe and secure community.
To Conclude, I would be neutral favoring both the views as law is always enforced for betterment, which according to me both the argument covers. Fixed attempting crime while, critical evaluation for unbiased judgment.
