The development of science and technology benefit our life. However, scientists cannot find effective solutions to the problems they created. To what degree do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
The advancements in science & technology have provided several benefits to our day to day life. I completely disagree with the idea that technology has created more problems than solutions. In my opinion, science has provided us with revolutionary benefits and the resulted issues are very few and get easily outweighed by the advantages.
To begin with, the innovations in medicine science have immensely helped humankind. The latest vaccines have drastically brought down the mortality rates, especially in the new born babies. Advanced surgical procedures have been able to cure diseases such as tumour, which were once thought to be incurable. According to recent statistics, the fatalities due to these diseases have reduced to half in the past couple of decades. Scientists have been able to find permanent cure for diseases like polio and tetanus, which is highly commendable.
Moreover, new technology has helped shape up the modern globalized world and truly connected it as one global economy. The recent developments in telecommunication and transportation has enabled people to find potential customers across with globe and hence created numerous employment opportunities. Internet has become a hub for learning, planning, implementing brand-new business ideas.
Furthermore, issues that are often publicized as consequences of new technology are rare are easily manageable. There have been some cases of microorganisms getting evolved and immune to available medicines. However, in such cases scientists have been very proactive to come up with an updated cure and damage caused has been far less than having no medicine to begin with. Another example that is commonly argued is of lifestyle diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, which are merely an outcome of personal choice. In fact, modern technology has provided more avenues for maintaining a healthy work-life balance and hence greater opportunities of keeping healthy lifestyle.
To conclude, I will emphasize that the developments in technology has provided many benefits to mankind. These benefits have taken our civilization to new heights and massively offset any rare issues caused.
