The two pie charts below show the marital status of Australia's and Canada's populations for 1999 and 2000 respectively.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

A glance at the given graphs reveals stark contrast between the Australian’s and the Canadian’s relationship status in 1999 and 2000 respectively. Obviously, the majority of Australia’s population was married, while single was the most popular status in Canada.

To begin with, in Australia, the highest proportion, 53%, belonged to married category which was ahead of the figure of the never married, 29%, by a wide margin. Additionally, the widowed and the divorced shared the same rate, both of which accounted for 7% of the population. Lastly, a mere 3% of Australia’s population was separated but not divorced, followed by same sex marriage with 1% in 1999.
In terms of Canada, single was the dominant status, at 46% and legally married came next, at 41%. However, this country also showed the similar patterns to marital status of Australia as the remaining categories only made up a modest percentage in the population. Equally notably, the gap between the figure of the married and the never married in Australia was considerably larger than that of Canada.
