The chart below shows information about the changes in average house prices in five different cites between 1990 and 2002 compared with the average house prices in 1989.

The chart below illustrates the percentage change in average house prices in five cities between 1990 and 2002 compared with the average house price in 1989.
During the first period which is from 1990 till 1995, average house prices in some of the cities showed a noticeable change. The average house prices in Tokyo, Japan and London,United Kingdom had the same percentage decrease of 7.5% in comparison with the average house prices in the previous year of 1990 , followed by a lower percentage decrease of 5 % in New York, USA. On the other hand, cities which showed an increase in their percentage change in the average house prices were Madrid, Spain and Frankfurt, Germany. The house prices in these two cities had gone up approximately 2% and 3% respectively.
During the second period, starting from 1996 to 2002, compared to the average house prices in 1989, Tokyo in Japan was the only city which had a percentage decrease of 5% ,while the rest showed a remarkable increase in the percentage change. Average house price in London, UK depicted a drastic rise up in percentage-an approximate 12%, followed by New York and Madrid had 5% and 4% increase in their percentage change respectively. The city, Frankfurt, Germany had the least percentage increase in average house price (2%).
All in all, London showed the greatest change in average house prices throughout the 12 years period due to the many factors such as explosion in population as well as development of the country.
