Some people think that it is beneficial for students to go to private schools, but other people think that it can have a negative effect. Discuss both opinions and give your own opinions.
Accompanying with the fascinating development of the education systems, private schools are boosting through the past few decades. Some argue that attending private schools benefit students as a whole whereas others hold opposite opinions. Personally, I believe that there are more negative impacts than positive ones brought by private schools.
Admittedly, such schools have their competitive advantages. To be specific, private schools are usually referred as the birth places for social elites, because they are able to provide better facilities, such as school infrastructures, equipment and study environment. Moreover, compared with public schools, private schools charge higher tuition fees. Therefore, with the access to more funds, donations and money, private schools, will often have a better chance to recruit more qualified and valuable teachers, which, after all, is one crucial element to schools.
Nevertheless, high quality as they are, private schools have several bad influences on students. First of all, the comparatively more expensive tuition fees would cause many families’ concerns. Without enough found, the idea of attending private schools would be neither attractive nor productive. For instance, families, having one child with two working parents of average salaries, could hardly afford the fees for one semester. If these parents insist on their children’s going to private schools, both the parents and their kids have to sacrifice the current quality of their living. Only in this way, can they send their boys and girls to those expensive private owned schools.
In addition, children in private schools have a greater possibility to grow bad habits as well as distorted values toward the world. That is to say, so spoiled by the care and love of their teachers, kids joining private schools lack the ability to both live and work independently. What is more, they may have an inaccurate understanding of money. To rich children, money can buy them everything, from fancy school uniforms to nice stationeries. Thus, under such a circumstance, distorted work value maybe cultivated.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, private schools do provide better external facilities attributing to better education. However, it is the students who are the essential part of schooling. Hence, private school’s negative impact probably surpass it advantages.
