What are the causes of water scarcity? What are your solutions?

Essay topic:
What are the causes of water scarcity? What are your solutions?
For the past few decades, humanity has achieved enormous success in various area. Yet, water scarcity has always been the one essential problem that puzzled the whole world. It is undeniable that there are various reasons that contribute to this problem. In this essay, I will illustrate some fundamental reasons.
To start with, the most obvious reason would be the increasing growth of worldwide population. With the development of science and technology as well as the improvement of overall medical condition, the death rate of babies has a decreasing trend since the middle 1980s. Therefore, the population has increased ever since. Since the water, which can be utilized by human being seems to be at a stable level, thus the increasing population would necessarily reduce the water consumed by everyone. It is not uncommon to see in many place in Africa that people die everyday due to the lack of health drinking water. In other place, such as the middle east, countries claim war to each other in order to obtain more water resources. The second contributor to this issue would be pollution to our water resources. To achieve high economic growth and also gain more money, factories dump wasted materials and polluted water into river, lake and ocean every. Similar example can be found in agriculture industry. Farmer, in order to promote productivity and improve high efficiency, use various type of fertilizer alone with pesticides, which will eventually penetrate through soil and enter into underground water system. Water once has been contained would not be subject to drinking either for human or for animal. The third factor that contribute to water scarcity is by wasting. Although, it has been brought up by scientists, social activists and environment organizations for a very long time, saving water resources still has not get enough attention. It is not unusual to see people waste water everyday. For instance, there would always be someone who forget to close the water tape. Besides, individual may take a very long shower during which he or she may consume more water than he or she actually needs.
It is obvious that water shortage is constituted of various factors. Therefore, to tackle this problem, various solutions have to be introduced. First of all, countries should work together to control the growth rate of world population. This would be especially helpful for Africa nations, for they are struggled with the lack of water. Besides, government and environmental protection organizations should take action to protect water from being polluted. Solutions such as developing environment-friendly fertilizer and utilizing high technology to transfer polluted water into clean water are crucial to protect our water resources. Finally, individual should pay more attention to water issue and increase the awareness of saving water.
To sum up, water shortage is a very complicated problem of modern society. Hence a wide range of solutions should be applied to address this issue. Only in this way, we can achieve a sustainable and harmony human society.

Essay topic:
Competitiveness is a positive quality for people in most cities. How does competitiveness affect individuals? Is it a positive or negative quality?
The past few decades has witnessed the global economy growing at a fascinating rate. Yet behind this glorious growing rate, the issue of competitiveness has show its influence in modern society. There are people who believe that we could have more competitiveness since it benefits the economic development. Others, on the other hand, criticize that too much competition has been involved in our daily life. In my opinion, competitiveness is not only a good quality for an individual but also an essential factor that contributes to success.
Competitiveness is the cornerstone of the development of world economy. The rivalry between different companies who are in the same industry, in fact, boosts the long-time development and innovation of that industry. For instance, few years ago, people could hardly image how thin their mobile phones would become, how many work that their mobile phones can do for them and how efficient the phone could become. These breakthroughs in mobile phone technology have largely due to the intense competition between several major mobile phone companies, such as Apple and Samsung. Moreover, the more competition exists in one industry, the more efficient the industry would become. Specifically speaking, once an individual tries to compete with his or her opponent, the potential ability of this individual is likely to be motivated. Therefore, a better performance would be expected from this particular employee. Hence, a more efficient and productive organizational culture would be the generated. In addition, competitiveness is also the trigger that encourages people to learn, to think, to improve themselves. One crucial factor that differentiates humanity from animal is that human beings have the intention to learn know things so that they can broaden their mind and improve themselves. Competition would encourage self-improvement and contribute to the growth of human intelligence.
It is undeniable that too much rivalry could cause serious problems. Those who insist that competitiveness is bad may argue that competitiveness contributes to overwhelming stress on people who end up may take his or her life because of that. It seems true at first sight; however, after a second thought, this claim is irrational. Competition itself can generate stress which, in some circumstances, motivate, encourage and promote individual to do a better job. It is people who may take too much attention on competition so that it in turn causes psychological problem to the individual. It is not uncommon to find those who can very well cope with the intense competitive environment and actually benefit from it.
To sum up, competitiveness in general is good to both our society and economy. Although it may lead to psychology issue in an individual, it could generate more profit on the condition that people can adapt to it.

Essay topic:
When visiting foreign countries some people think that it is advantageous to learn their cultures and traditions. How do you think people can learn other cultures and traditions?
With the fascinating development of world economy, more and more people are able to afford traveling abroad. The idea of learning another culture during traveling sounds tempting, yet people always find it is in fact very difficult to do so. In my opinion and based on my own experience, individuals can acquire the culture of their tourist destination through two ways. In the following essay, I will demonstrate them respectively.
The first way to learn another culture is to know something about the destination so that people can get prepared. It is not uncommon to find people complain after traveling abroad that they cannot get used to the life there and they find it extremely difficult to adopt the local traditions. Therefore, my first suggestion would be prepare oneself before the beginning of the journey. By doing so, individuals can not only learn the new culture more quickly but they may also adopt to the new environment more swiftly. To achieve this goal, people could try to read the local news or books about this new country. Besides, some television programs, such as the Discovery Channel and National Geography provide a wide variety of TV shows that contains information about a foreign resort. Thus, people who are going to travel abroad could equipped themselves with information provided on TV. Moreover, travel agencies are always a good resource to seek for help. Individuals are encouraged and welcomed to ask their agency any questions that bother them. Also, travel agency would arrange information sections or meetings to help traveler get familiar with their destination.
The second method to learn a new tradition or culture is through talking with the locals. This may seem difficult to achieve since the language of local residents is likely different from those of the tourists. Yet once this approach is applied, individuals would find it much more easy for them to learn and experience the local culture. Although in the past few decades, the pace of development of tourism is beyond our imagination, tourism still cannot satisfy people's need to experience a new culture. This issue mainly contributed by the fact that travelers tent to travel in groups and under the guide of an agency, hence they seldom have the opportunity to talk to locals and involve in local life. If individual could communicate with local residents and learn the original tradition from them, he or she is able to have a more profound understanding of the lifestyle, history as well as culture of the locals.
To sum up, there are two essential ways that people can use to learn a new culture when traveling abroad. The first one is to get themselves prepared and familiar with the culture or tradition of their tourist destination. In addition, individual can also acquire the knowledge through direct talking with local residents.

City dwellers seldom socialize with their neighbors today and the sense of community has been lost. Why has this happened and how to solve this problem?

Essay topic:
City dwellers seldom socialize with their neighbors today and the sense of community has been lost. Why has this happened and how to solve this problem?
In this age of change, human society has been progressing rapidly on various fronts. Yet the relationship between individuals has become estranged. In spite of talking to their neighbors, individuals tent to remain in their own home to avoid direct contract with others. This issue has raised the attention of many countries worldwide. This this essay, I will demonstrate the possible reasons that contribute to this problem.
First of all, the lack of security is a crucial fact of the alienation between people. To be specific, humanity living under the stress of modern society is suffering from the feel of insecurity. For instance, it is not uncommon to find someone claims that he or she has been robbed, or he or she has been cheated or been stabbed in the back. These real life experience makes it more and more difficult for individual to trust other, especially stranger such as neighbors or acquaintance for his or her community. Moreover, the media has accelerated the sense of unsafe among humanity. In the past few decades, the development of media, such as TV shows and movies is fascinating and our culture has been transferred alone with it. In order to attract more viewers, TV shows and movies start to show extremely violent and criminal materials. In spite of the fact that most of the horrible scene is fake, audiences are still influenced by what they see. These negative affects has been deeply impact the way individual treat each other. Hence, humanity begin to avoid socializing with each other so that they can become safe and sound. In addition, the increasing pressure from work has deprive from people the leisure time that can be used to social with others. With the development of socioeconomic, there is an increasing intention of competition between people at work. In order to survive in this trend, individual has no choice but to work hard by working beyond the clock. Therefore, individual is unlikely to have the time and opportunity to communicate with their friends.
As illustrated above, there are various reasons leading to the alienation between people. Hence, the solutions should vary correspondingly. To start with, people should try to open their heart and embrace life. Instead of staying alone in their own room worrying about the unpredictable dangerous, humanity need to be brave and accept the life and destiny they are given. Government should draw more attention to the living condition of community and fight crime so that citizens would increase their confidence in strangers and begin to trust each other. Besides, media should spread more positive message to the whole society other than violent and criminal scene. TV shows and movies could produce story which can bring the audiences happiness and comfort other than fear and worries. For instance, TV show can produce the happy story of a normal family that living with their nice and kind neighbors. Shows like this would possibly address the problems.
To sum up, there are a serious factors that contribute to the issue of alienation between people. To tackle this issue, a variety of different methods should be conducted through the effort of both individual, media and the government. Only in this way, in my opinion, can we sole this problem successfully.

Some people think it is a waste of money to establish libraries since the public can use the Internet at home to obtain information, do you agree or disagree?

Essay topic:
Some people think it is a waste of money to establish libraries since the public can use the Internet at home to obtain information, do you agree or disagree?
In the past few decades, the pace of changes in the development of science and technology is beyond our imagination, and our reading habit has been transferred along with it. With an increasing number of people reading through Internet, some claim that libraries are out of date. In my opinion, there is no need for government spending money on libraries under current situation.
Building public libraries is a waste of tax payers' money. One of the convincing argument is that there are many alternative ways people can acquire information other than reading a library books. For instance, thanks to the invention of Internet, individuals are now able to read daily news on their computers and smart phones. In addition, with the development of science and technology, there is a decreasing number of people who are willing to use the libraries. Since individual can both get informed and educated by various other media, such as TV, computer and newspaper, they find it is unnecessary to go to the libraries to study. As a result, a lot of libraries are not fully used, which is not only a waste of money but also a waste of valuable resources. Moreover, compared with the modern approach of reading, reading at a public library is not convenient. To be specific, those who want to use the libraries gave to undergo a time-consuming process before they can actually sit down and read in the library. Besides, there are always a lot of rules implemented in the public libraries. For example, readers have to have a valid certificate so that they can enter, and users in the libraries can not eat or talk while others are reading. Nevertheless, reading at home or other places in this case, will be proved more comfortable than reading at a library.
Some people may argue that public libraries are good places for young students to used due to the fact that libraries have no TVs or computers which can distract students from their study. This argument seems to be true at the first glance; however, it is unreasonable. It is not uncommon to notice that young students may daydream and play with their friends at the libraries, because they are not at home where they are supervised by their parents. Additionally, the money spend on building and managing the libraries can be used at other more crucial issues. For instance, in stead of building a public library, government can use the money to establish a primary school, which apparently is a more efficient way to improve the general education level.
To sum up, libraries are not useful under the modern life. Therefore, it is no point for government to put money on it when those kind of money can be used more efficiently on other issues.

Some people think secondary students should study international news as a school subject, but others suggest that it is a waste of students' valuable school time. Discuss both and give your opinion.

Essay topic:
Some people think secondary students should study international news as a school subject, but others suggest that it is a waste of students' valuable school time. Discuss both and give your opinion.
Ever since the broadcast of the first international news, it has become an essential element in people's daily life. Therefore some claim international news should be included in the curriculum of secondary students whereas others oppose this suggestion. Personally, I believe that international news should be taught to secondary students.
There are two supporting arguments to my statement. First of all, acquiring international news helps students to rich their knowledge and broad their horizon. To be specific, with the development of globalization, the ties between countries have been enhanced leading a more integrated world where nations depend on each other. Hence, a comprehensive understanding of international affair provides secondary students the basic knowledge for exploration of the world. Thus, it is important to these students.
Secondly, equipped with knowledge of international news, secondary student are more likely to find a good job in the future. Under the impact of commercialization and globalization, there are an increasing number of international companies. These firms require their employees have global visions which can only be achieved through the learning of international news. That is to say, those who studied international news will have more globalized visions making them more competitive in the job market. Therefore, they have a better chance to work in multinational companies.
However the biggest weakness of this statement is that secondary students may find it very difficult to absorb such news. For instance, some foreign policies such as economic sanction and humanitarian aid may not be familiar to students who are in the second level. In respect of this, the idea of teaching international news is neither attractive nor productive. Nevertheless, if teachers could explain these terminologies to their students with patience and illustration, students would sooner or later understand international news.
In summary, the suggestion of teaching secondary students international news benefits both the educational system as well as the job market. However, substantive patience and demonstration should be involved in the process of teaching so that efficiency could be accomplished.

Essay topic:
Many people believe that the main aim for university education is to help graduates to find better job, while some people believe that university education has wider benefit individual and society. discuss both views and give your opinion.
The development of university education system has been recognized as an improvement of both modernization and civilization. As a result the duties of higher education are constantly debated with one side claiming that its purpose is to support students to find a job and the opponents stating that it has a more profound meaning in our daily life. Personally, I believe that the purpose of higher education is more than finding jobs for students.
Admittedly, there is no doubt that university education plays a crucial role in job hunting. During their years spent in an university, youngsters are equipped with advanced knowledge, such as economy, psychology and archaeology and useful skills, such as communication skills, team work and writing skills. Internalized through university education, these knowledge and skills are transformed into competitive advantages, which are able to assist students to acquire a decent job.
Nevertheless, the responsibility of university is far from seeking jobs. It is beneficial for individuals. It be specific, young generations do not only achieve academic accomplishment but also foster their personality and characteristics during their staying in universities. That professors enlighten students on issues, such as how to be a good citizen and how to be a responsible human being is not uncommon in university. Through their lecture and discussions, lecturers impose positive messages into students' mind, shaping their personalities and dictating how their personalities develop.
In addition, university education also contributes to the society as a whole. First of all, by cultivating skilled and intelligent students, schools provide sophisticated scientists, politicians and doctors to society. These individuals will serve their duties as to improve the well-being of the whole community. Secondly, it is those who received higher level education that possess healthier perspective of life. Thus they will dedicate their knowledge and their hard work to humanity.
In summary, the primary goal of university education is to satisfy students' needs of employment. However, it has a more profound and fundamental role in terms of individual well-being and social development.

Essay topic:
Some people think that it is beneficial for students to go to private schools, but other people think that it can have a negative effect. Discuss both opinions and give your own opinions.
Accompanying with the fascinating development of the education systems, private schools are boosting through the past few decades. Some argue that attending private schools benefit students as a whole whereas others hold opposite opinions. Personally, I believe that there are more negative impacts than positive ones brought by private schools.
Admittedly, such schools have their competitive advantages. To be specific, private schools are usually referred as the birth places for social elites, because they are able to provide better facilities, such as school infrastructures, equipment and study environment. Moreover, compared with public schools, private schools charge higher tuition fees. Therefore, with the access to more funds, donations and money, private schools, will often have a better chance to recruit more qualified and valuable teachers, which, after all, is one crucial element to schools.
Nevertheless, high quality as they are, private schools have several bad influences on students. First of all, the comparatively more expensive tuition fees would cause many families’ concerns. Without enough found, the idea of attending private schools would be neither attractive nor productive. For instance, families, having one child with two working parents of average salaries, could hardly afford the fees for one semester. If these parents insist on their children’s going to private schools, both the parents and their kids have to sacrifice the current quality of their living. Only in this way, can they send their boys and girls to those expensive private owned schools.
In addition, children in private schools have a greater possibility to grow bad habits as well as distorted values toward the world. That is to say, so spoiled by the care and love of their teachers, kids joining private schools lack the ability to both live and work independently. What is more, they may have an inaccurate understanding of money. To rich children, money can buy them everything, from fancy school uniforms to nice stationeries. Thus, under such a circumstance, distorted work value maybe cultivated.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, private schools do provide better external facilities attributing to better education. However, it is the students who are the essential part of schooling. Hence, private school’s negative impact probably surpass it advantages.

Essay topic:
Some people believe that national sport teams and individual men and women who represent their country should be financially supported by the government. Others think they should be funded by non-government ways (such as business, scholarship). What is your opinion?
As a result of constant mass media attention, athletes have become the center topic of the general in recent years. This leads to the phenomenon of heated debates on the issue of who should support them financially. Some people are of the opinion that government has the responsibilities, while others are opposed to this argument, insisting on the donation from non-government organizations. Personally, I agree with the latter.
Admittedly, as part of the national affairs, sports and sports professionals are the responsibilities of the government. To be specific, government has the duties, apart from protecting national security and boosting domestic economy, to advocate the development of sports. Moreover, so much money is required in order to promote sports nationwide that only the government has the ability to achieve this goal. For instance, to cultivate world-class athletes, basic infrastructures and facilities need to be constructed along with qualified and skilled trainers needed to be hired. This involves a great amount of both money and time. Therefore, without the aid of government, it would be unlikely for sports men and women to be fostered.
However, reaching the conclusion that government plays a vital role dose necessarily indicate that government is the only one in supporting sports professionals. Instead, non-government organizations such as private owned enterprises and sports institutions are also essential. In fact, this would be a win-win situation if private businesses support athletes. That is to say, whenever a company donates money to those athletes representing their own county, the athletes earn money obviously, and this company receives public attention that acts as advertisement and increases its company image and reputation as a patriotic enterprise. This in turn will boom the business and profit of this company.
In addition, sports should not be considered as the top concern of the government. Although it is part of the government’s duty, it could never overweigh the importance of solving poverty as well as well as fighting crime. That having been said, the government should always put these two issues in priority. Thus, spending taxpayers’ money on sports would be recognized as a huge waste of domestic resources and personnel.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, money from private sectors should be used to boost sports, whereas government has more important issue to tackle.

Some people believe children spending time on TV, video and PC games are good, but others believe that is bad. Talk about these two views and give your own opinion.

Essay topic:
Some people believe children spending time on TV, video and PC games are good, but others believe that is bad. Talk about these two views and give your own opinion.
Entering into the age of information technology, individuals discover that their lives are predominated by electronic devices. Therefore, nothing has been so much debated as the impact of such devices on children. Some are of the opinion that spending time on TV, video and PC games is good for children, whereas other are opposed to this. Personally, I agree with the former.
Admittedly, these technological innovations impose negative influence on the younger generation to some extent. To be specific, they may cause physical damages. For instance, suggested by medical professionals that a long time exposure in front of the TV screens will possibly hurt the eyes of children, leading to problems which may affect their choice of future careers. Moreover, so attracted by the colorful and moving images, such as cartoons and games that kids will be encountered with difficulties to concentrate in their studies, work and even lives.
Nevertheless, reaching the conclusion that such technologies do harm to the youngsters does not necessarily mean that they have no positive impacts. In fact, children can benefit from the technologies listed above. It is not uncommon to witness the phenomenon that kids before going into preschools learn how to speak, sing and act because of their imitation from TV, video and PC games. Without these devices, it would be hard for parents to teach their children at such early ages. Thus, it is the development of science and technology that support families in terms of rising the next generation.
In addition, not only can TVs and other electronic equipment support exploiting kids’ potentialities at an early age, but also disseminate information and knowledge when they grow up. That is to say, these equipment are both informative as well as educational. For example, through watching the domestic and international news on TV, youths can acquire basic understanding of current affair which broadens their horizon and shapes their world views. Furthermore, some PC games involve solving mathematical questions that encourage and promote the interests of learning. Hence, if there were no such modern technologies, younger students would not be so sophisticated and knowledgeable as they were today.
In conclusion, equipment, such as TVs, videos and PC games are double-edged, fostering learning interest while threatening physical and mental well-being. However, as far as I am concerned, under direct supervision of their parents, children can benefit from such devices.

Essay topic:
More and more people are working at home rather than in the workplaces. Some people say this will bring benefits to the workers and their families, but others think it will bring stress to the home. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
In the past few decades, science and technology have been developing at a fascinating speed and our life style have transformed along with it. This contributes to the reality that working at home is a symbol of commercialization and modernization. Some people are of the opinion that this phenomenon benefits both the workers and their families, whereas others are opposed to it. Personally, I support the former.
Admittedly, there are certain drawbacks of working at home, and the issue of stress is one of them. To be specific, as a result of bring work to home, employees are highly likely to bring the atmosphere from work to home too. For instance, being accustomed to the experience of meeting a deadline, arguing with a co-worker and competing with other colleagues, individuals have their own way to release their pressure and fatigue in workplaces. However, while working at home, employees have to consider the feelings of their family members, especially when there are young kids around. Therefore, in order not to disturb the routine lives of their family members, workers staying home have to control their temper, watch their language and constrain their behaviors which in turn may impose more stress and frustration on them.
Nevertheless, reaching the conclusion that home telecommuting triggers high level of stress does not necessarily implicate that it has no benefits. In fact, staying at home can improve workers’ efficiency and increase companies’ profits. For example, instead of staying at a overcrowded workplace wearing uncomfortable suits and ties, employees can be more relaxed and comfortable at home where everything is so organized and can sooth people’s nerves. When working under such circumstances, it is unlikely that workers would be disturbed or distracted. Thus it is the soothing and pleasant environment at home that stimulates employees’ creativity facilitating them to generate more profits.
In addition, family members, especially young children are positively impacted by this trend. It is not an unusual thing to discover that a vast majority of children lacks constant love and care from their parents who have to work full-time. Without the companionship of their father and mother, kids would become cold-hearted, isolated from the general public and would even develop resentment towards the society, since society keeps their parents away from them. This would not only pose great threats to a single family but the society as a whole. Hence, it is good for people to working at home.
In conclusion, working at home is double-edge, causing stress at home but benefiting children. Yet, as far as I am concerned, its benefits overweigh its negative effects.

Essay topic:
In many countries, good schools and medical facilities are only available in cities. To improve this situation, some people suggest that new teachers and doctors should be sent to rural areas for several years. Others disagree because everyone has right to choose where to work. Discuss both of the ideas and give your own opinion.
Although the living conditions, such as medical and school facilities have been enhanced in the past few decades, rural areas still experience the scarcity of such infrastructures. Therefore, some people are of the opinion that teachers as well as doctors should be assigned to these remote places helping the local communities, while other are opposed to this opinion, arguing that it is against the free wills of those teachers and doctors. Personally, I support the latter.
Admittedly, allocating medical and educational professionals can help to alleviate the current situations in remote areas to some extent. To be specific, under the guide of new doctors, not only can local people receive more advanced medical attention, but also establish community medical centers, which will benefit them even in a long run. Moreover, it is teachers who can foster the next generation. Thus, more and more specialized and knowledgeable youngsters can be cultivated, which in turn will dedicate all their techniques and knowledge to the development of their hometown.
Nevertheless, reaching the conclusion that newly arrived teachers and doctors can help to develop the rural places does not necessarily indicate that this is the best solution. In fact, such compulsory policy may trigger negative effects. For instance, some of the teachers and doctors may not want to be allocated to these remote places due to the fact that they cannot be separated from their families or they consider the living conditions there are very harsh. Under these circumstances, it would be wrong and inhuman to implement this policy. Furthermore, if these professionals were assigned against their wills, they would be reluctant to perform their jobs and would even hold resentment towards their jobs.
In addition, instead of sending new teachers and doctors, the government should improve the local infrastructures. This is the fundamental solution to tackle this problem. That is to say, without the construction of local facilities, the allocation of teachers and doctors would be neither productive nor attractive. Only after the development of local hospitals and schools, can the problem be addressed.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, sending professionals to rural places cannot combat the problem completely. Instead, the government should give priority to the construction of schools and hospitals, which is the essential solution.

Some people think the government should pay for health care and education, but other people think it’s not government’s responsibility. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Essay topic:
Some people think the government should pay for health care and education, but other people think it’s not government’s responsibility. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Nothing has been so much debated as government’s role in supporting health care and education. Some people are of the opinion that it should be the priority of government to fund these sectors, while others are opposed to it on the ground that this is not the government’s obligation. Personally, I agree with the former.
Admittedly, with a limited financial budget, government may not be able to pay for these industries. To be specific, instead of health care and education, there are more important issues, including national security, alleviating poverty and stimulating national economy that should be put into priority. Restrained by its budget, the government is unlikely to dedicate enough resources and money into health care and education. What is more, private companies can always contribute to institutions, schools and hospitals. It is these private owned enterprises that have the ability to help. This is already happening in some countries, where high-tech companies donate a huge amount of money facilitating related scientific researches and manufacture companies invest their new medical equipment to hospitals, for example.
Nevertheless, reaching the conclusion above does not necessarily indicate that health care and education are not the obligation of governments. In fact, the health of the general public should be recognized as one of the essential duties of the government. Without the investment from the congress, hospitals would possibly be taken advantage of big pharmaceutical companies who concern more about year-end revenue than the health conditions of the residents. Therefore, empowered and chosen by the citizens, governments should take the responsibility to protect tax payers.
In addition, educating the next generation directly impacts the future of a country; hence the government has an inevitable obligation. That is to say, teachers not only disseminate valuable knowledge at schools but mould characters of the students so that they would grow up being decent and moral human beings. Moreover, if government stops funding the schools and universities, the tuition fees would highly likely be increased, which leaves those from poor families with no choice but to quit school. Generating a fair society regarding that everyone has the equal right to study is also a crucial duty of the government.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, government should play a vital role in facilitating health and education financially.

Essay topic:
Many people believe that media coverage of celebrities is having a negative effect on children.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Today, celebrities appear to become a spotlight of the mass media. Almost half of the news coverage on television and the Internet is devoted to the celebrity gossip. Not surprisingly, many people are worried that this attention to the famous people has an impact on them, especially on their children. This essay will compare both negative and positive consequences of this effect on infants.
Fame is a great responsibility for public people as their admirers are very sensitive to any acts of their idols. Celebrity scandals and gossips can quickly reach the public which perceive it very negatively. This means that celebrities who received attention for overuse of drugs or alcohol are likely to get public disgrace. Therefore, children may see that this behavior is inexcusable.
On the other hand, too much news coverage to famous people seems to have a negative influence on the choice of children of their future professions. As recent surveys showed, inspired by the fame and wealth, children now prefer more to become an actor/actress or a sports star than it was in the past. Many schools for preparation of so-called stars and various advertisements about famous people may mislead with the fact that this profession is highly required and easy reachable. This may confuse children who should not choose their future job because of the influence of the mass media, but from the basis of their own interests.
In conclusion, parents should be more worried about their children’s attitudes to the ‘cult of celebrity’. They should teach to distinguish shortcoming stars from truly talented ones and to put right priorities in life.
