Some people think it would be a good idea for schools to teach every young person how to be a good parent.
Do you agree or disagree?
Parenting is an important aspect of every individual’s life. The attitude and behavior of the parents at home and the home environment plays a huge role in forming the overall personality of the child, as parents are the guides and teachers of kids in the formative years of their life. Habits formed during childhood last the whole life and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to rectify them later on. Nowadays, bringing up a child with good moral values is a great challenge as well as a huge responsibility.
It is always easy to distinguish between good parenting and bad parenting. A child bought up in a healthy home environment and having attentive parents will always follow good habits like being kind and helpful, telling the truth always etc. The child would have a pleasing personality and would be well liked by all. On the other hand, a child brought up by careless parents in a hostile environment may tend to push the child towards anti-social skills like lying, stealing, using or peddling drugs or other criminal activities all of which are frowned upon by our society.
As is renowned the world over, education plays an important role in building and enhancing the knowledge of an individual. Kids learn about not only the educational aspects like the arts, sciences and sports, but social aspects too. Example nowadays, schools offer an informative view about sex education which helps to bring about awareness among young people.
I totally agree with the line of thinking that schools should teach young students about parenting aspects as well, right from the very beginning. Since the whole future life of a child lies in the hands of his/her parents, it is imperative that young people be made aware of the responsibilities that go along with parenthood. They need to be taught about the importance that love and care hold in shaping a kid’s life. They also need to learn how to guide their child in his/her formative years so that when he/she grows up, not only is the individual admired and respected by the society, but he/she is also able to actively contribute to the betterment and development of his/her country.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I believe that it is a very good idea to expose young people to aspects of parenting. Being aware of their roles and responsibilities can help them evolve into model parents in their future life.
